Today, your private Morocco tour will starts from your hotel or riad in Fez driving across the Middle Atlas and cedar forest. Today it worth waking up early in the morning so you can experience the beauty of a desert sunrise and the amazing silence of the Sahara, this is a wonderful time to experience the silence and the changing colors as the sun rises on the dunes. After coming back to the camp where breakfast will be waiting and a hot shower to freshen you up for the day ́s adventure, you will then ride your camel back to the departure point. We will pick you up and start your Merzouga desert tour exploring all interesting sites around Erg Chebbi dunes such as the seasonal Lake of Merzouga named “Lake Sirji”, Khamlia village for GNAWA music, Mines for a variety of stones called “Mefes” to nomad families ending by a visit to RISSANI Market, the biggest souk in the area. Arriving in the afternoon then free time for the rest of the day before spending the night at a luxury desert camp in Merzouga.
Weak up early to watch a spectaculare sunrise over the dunes, before being escorted back to Merzouga offroading by our 4WD vehicle. After breakfast, we head toward Erfoud and the Todra Gorges beyond that. On arrival, you’ll have the chance to climb the 300 metre-tall gorges and view of the beautiful river from an excellent vantage point. Overnight in Tinghir. The journey from Tinghir to Ouarzazate is a long one 176 klm and the road climbs up into the valley of the Dades. The palm-tree gradually gives way to orchards of pomegranate-trees, and you pass through one kasbah after another. However stop and visit the kasbah in Kalaat Magouna which massively stands out in silhouette on a crag from which you can look out over the whole oasis. You first realize that you are near ouarzazate , a town of 71 067 habitants, when you pass through one of its arches that straddles the road. Today is a special day, after breakfast you start the day with a pick up by your driver/guide from your hotel or riad. We leave for Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, which is located about 30 kilometres from Ouarzazate. The kasbah is listed on UNESCO’s World Heritage site and is a well-preserved fortified city, made up of kasbahs and ksars with a great earthen clay architecture. It is subject to many Moroccan postcards and numerous famous films have been shot here, such as «Jesus of Nazareth», «Gladiator» and «Alexander». We continue into the High Atlas mountains, along the former route of the caravans until we arrive at Kasbah Telouet. This kasbah lies at an elevation of 1,800 metres (5,900 ft) and was the seat of the El Glaoui family’s power. It was built in 1800’s, but after Morocco’s independence in 1953, the Glaoui family was evicted and the kasbah was left to ruin. The palace is becoming more damaged, but in 2010 work was started to restore the property. Inside it has some stunning mosaics and intricate wood carvings similar to the Bahia Palace in Marrakech, with an incredible attention to details. From the roof terrace there is an amazing view of the mountains and the valley below. You enjoy a lunch in one of Tizi n’tishka local restaurants before reach Marrakech in the late evening Overnight in Marrakech Riad/Hotel.
Marrakech is a culturally rich city that attracts many artists, designers, filmmakers, and creative entrepreneurs. This tour takes you on a visit with one of our certifed guides in Marrakrch to the beautiful Majorelle Garden where you will enjoy a collection of various plants, trees and cactus from all over the world. You will visit the Berber Museum to see the vintage and tribal jewelry originating from the Atlas Mountains in Morocco. You will also visit the Yves Saint Laurent Museum to experience the history of former YSL fashion collections, art galleries, and special exhibitions. (Please note that the YSL Museum is closed on Wednesdays.) We will then travel back to the medina to visit the Museum of Confluences Dar al Bacha (Please note that the Palace is closed on Tuesdays). The tour will continue in the artisans souk, with a visit to medicinal herbalist shop and complete the tour at the Max & Jan concept store (gift shop & restaurant).
