Tour Plan

Your private tour from Marrakesh to Ouarzazate and Draa valley will start early in the morning (8h00AM) by a luxurious mini-van (Mercedes Vito) vehicle, with a pick up from your hotel/riad with our speaking English driver/guide. Drive east of Marrakesh crossing the windy high Atlas Mountains and Tizi N'tichka pass. Numerous stops will be made along the way to enjoy the views, take photos, stretch your legs or drink a cup of coffee. You will leave the main road and take a side road to the Telouet Kasbah, which belonged to the lords of the atlas, the Glaoui family; each addition to the building now stands in ruins exposed to the wind and the rain.

Next drive through Ait Ben Haddou village where the gladiator and the Jewel of the Nile... were filmed. UNESCO as one of the world’s cultural treasures has classified the fortified village of Ait Ben Haddou... After having a tasty lunch in Ait Ben Haddou you continue to Ouarzazate, which marks the door of the Sahara desert. Visit Taourirt Kasbah, This former Glaoui residence, situated on the edge of the town. Then drive through Skoura Oasis and visit the famous Amridil Kasbah that was originally founded in the 17th century. From here the route goes through Kelaat Magouna ,the valley of Roses with a stop to see cosmetic articles locally made from the valley’s abundant roses, after this stop you will drive up to the Dades valley A twisting piece of blacktop known by locals as the “Road of a Thousand Kasbahs” leads to the famous Dades Gorge in the beautiful countryside of Morocco. Overnight in Boumalne Dades.

After breakfast in Dades, we head to Tinghir which was a French military station during the times of the French colonization, we will take a detour and make a stop at another oasis. When you are there, please allow nature’s aesthetic voices freshen your souls, while you take a walk alongside the stream. At the end of your walk, another nature’s treasure is awaiting for you: Todgha Gorges. After lunch at one of the local cafes, we proceed to Rissani and feel the spirituality of the town, as it is considered one of the holiest places in Morocco. In fact, Rissani is the home origins of the ruling family in Morocco and the dynasty founder is buried there. Rissani is also famous for being the departure site for ancient caravan roads, which usually head all the way to the Sahara desert and Tomboctou. After a history lesson in Rissani, we will reach Merzouga after driving across some rocky terrain. Once there, we will meet our camel caravan for an exciting camel ride over Erg Chebbi dunes and watch the sky taking on shades of orange until it’s time for it to set. After the ride, we reach your Sahara desert camp nestled in the middle of nowhere. Once you are settled, feel free to walk up to one of the sand dunes to admire the views. Enjoy dinner on open air while entertained by our local nomads music.
Wake up early morning to watch scenic sunrise, and have your breakfast to drive back west to the Draa valley takes you along the length of Saghro mountains ,one of the driest areas in the country with about 100 mm rain at the bottom and 300 mm on the hills ,you pass the village of Tazzarine (featured in the film “babel”) and Nqob where you have lunch overlooking the mountains. In the afternoon you drive further west to Tansikht on the banks of the Daraa valley is full of large palm tress and ancient Kasbahs ,typical of the landscape in this part of the south .then you go along the track of the ancient caravan route which worked its way north from the Sahara to Agdez with its precious cargos from Mali and Niger, the oldest Kasbah in the valley Kasbah Tamnougalte, is situated almost at the top of the valley. utterly amazing! It was an amazing three-day desert excursion from Marrakech to Merzouga. Our experienced guide started us on a journey that brought us through breathtaking scenery, lively Berber communities, and finally to the fascinating dunes of Erg Chebbi as soon as we left Marrakech.

One of the highlights was staying overnight in a traditional Berber camp, which included great local food and vibrant music around the campfire. I heartily suggest this trip to anyone looking for exploration and a unique cultural experience.

A memorable getaway in the desert! The best part of my trip to Morocco was this 3-day excursion that took me from Marrakech to Merzouga. Driving itself was an adventure, with beautiful landscapes and typical Berber communities along the way. Riding camels in the desert and witnessing the sun set over the sand dunes was an incredible experience.

We had a great day at our cozy campsite thanks to the kind hospitality of our Berber hosts. I will never forget the feeling of seeing the sunrise and waking up to the quiet stillness of the desert. I heartily suggest this tour to anyone looking for a distinctive and real Moroccan experience.
