Tour Plan

Today, your private Morocco tour will starts from your hotel or riad in Fez driving across the Middle Atlas and cedar forest. Along the way we pass through Ifrane, which is a famous ski resort, then Midelt, famous for minerals and apples. We continue via Ziz valley to reach Erfoud, famous for fossil products, and then to Rissani. Next, once we arrive in the Erg Chebbi desert where we meet our camel man. We prepare for a camel ride across the Merzouga sand dunes during sunset and enjoy some local music around fire and sleeping in Sahara desert camp. Overnight in desert camp in Merzouga.
Weak up early to watch a spectaculare sunrise over the dunes, before being escorted back to Merzouga offroading by our 4WD vehicle. After breakfast, we head toward Erfoud and the Todra Gorges beyond that. On arrival, you’ll have the chance to climb the 300 metre-tall gorges and view of the beautiful river from an excellent vantage point. Overnight in Tinghir. The very resonance of the name plunges us into a scene of souks and markets, with a mixture of smiles and gestures, you can acquire some fine piece of old jewellery or a magnificient gun.
The journey from Tinghir to Ouarzazate is a long one 176 klm and the road climbs up into the valley of the Dades. The palm-tree gradually gives way to orchards of pomegranate-trees, and you pass through one kasbah after another. However stop and visit the kasbah in Kalaat Magouna which massively stands out in silhouette on a crag from which you can look out over the whole oasis. You first realize that you are near ouarzazate , a town of 71 067 habitants, when you pass through one of its arches that straddles the road. And then, Ouarzazate the whole Southern Morocco seems to be embodied in that name. Once arrive to Ouarzazate you will have the chance to visit on of Ouarzazare’s edges the Glaoui palace, kasbah of Taourirte and we won’t miss the cinema studios. Overnight in ouarzazate.
Today is a special day, after breakfast you start the day with a pick up by your driver/guide from your hotel or riad. We leave for Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, which is located about 30 kilometres from Ouarzazate. The kasbah is listed on UNESCO’s World Heritage site and is a well-preserved fortified city, made up of kasbahs and ksars with a great earthen clay architecture. It is subject to many Moroccan postcards and numerous famous films have been shot here, such as «Jesus of Nazareth», «Gladiator» and «Alexander». We continue into the High Atlas mountains, along the former route of the caravans until we arrive at Kasbah Telouet. This kasbah lies at an elevation of 1,800 metres and was the seat of the El Glaoui family’s power. It was built in 1800’s, but after Morocco’s independence in 1953, the Glaoui family was evicted and the kasbah was left to ruin. The palace is becoming more damaged, but in 2010 work was started to restore the property. Inside it has some stunning mosaics and intricate wood carvings similar to the Bahia Palace in Marrakech, with an incredible attention to details. From the roof terrace there is an amazing view of the mountains and the valley below. You enjoy a lunch in one of Tizi n’tishka local restaurants before reach Marrakech in the late evening. Overnight in Marrakech Riad/Hotel.
