Quick Answer
This 7-day Morocco tour for seniors runs from Tangier to Marrakech. It takes in all four imperial cities, Fez, Meknes, Rabat, and Marrakech. A night in the blue-washed town of Chefchaouen rounds out the route. Transport is by private Mercedes Vito, organized by Ismail and Mustapha and their team of local guides. The pace stays unhurried throughout. Each city gets explored in enough depth to actually enjoy it, not just check it off.
Trip Overview
Four imperial cities, at a comfortable pace
Morocco rewards slow travel more than most destinations. In one week, this tour moves through four very different imperial cities, without ever feeling rushed between them. Local guides lead the way at each stop, offering context that’s easy to miss on your own.
The route starts in the north, in Chefchaouen, a small mountain town with streets painted in shades of blue. From there, it moves inland to Fez, the largest walled medina in the world, before continuing to Rabat and Casablanca. The final two nights are spent in Marrakech. Red sandstone, storytellers, and souks bring the week to a fitting close.

Your 7-day itinerary
Tangier – Tetouan – Chefchaouen
Arriving by air or ferry into Tangier gives flexibility to start the tour. From there, the route continues to Chefchaouen, a small medina you can walk in under half an hour. Place Outa el Hammam, the main square, is a good spot to relax. The call to prayer echoes from the surrounding hills as evening falls.
Chefchaouen – Volubilis – Meknes – Fez
Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage Roman site, sits in a lush valley near Fez. A private walking tour of Meknes follows, exploring souks and mosques that date back centuries. The evening is spent deep in the Fez medina.
Fez Sightseeing
Fez holds the largest car-free urban area in the world. Today is spent on foot through its labyrinth of souks, tanneries, and centuries-old buildings. A local guide provides insider access and stories along the way.
Fez – Rabat – Casablanca
The tile and ceramic souk in Fez is worth a final look before departing. The route then reaches Rabat, Morocco’s relatively unexplored capital, with a stop at the Kasbah of the Udayas. The evening continues on to Casablanca.
Casablanca – Marrakech
A guided visit to the Hassan II Mosque, one of the tallest religious structures in the world, starts the day. A private transfer then continues to Marrakech. A local guide introduces the city’s Berber heritage and storytelling traditions on arrival.
